Privacy
Your information, handled with care.
This notice explains what personal information Feet of Hope receives when you give, email us or ask for a tax certificate, and what we do with it, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
Who we are
Feet of Hope is a registered South African non-profit. You can reach us at luc@feetofhope.co.za. Our Information Officer is [name to be confirmed].
What we receive
- When you give by card or Instant EFT: Payfast processes your payment on its own secure page. We receive your name, email address, the amount and the date. We never see or store your card details.
- When you give by EFT: your bank shares the reference you used (usually your name) and the amount.
- When you email us (including through the contact form or the newsletter sign-up, which both open your own email app): your name, email address and whatever you write.
- When you ask for a Section 18A certificate: your full name, ID number or company registration number, and your gift’s date and amount. SARS requires these on every certificate.
What we do with it
We use it to receive and record your gift, to thank you, to issue your 18A certificate, and to send you our newsletter if you asked for it. We don’t sell or trade anyone’s information, ever.
Who we share it with
Payfast, to process payments, and SARS, which requires us to report the 18A certificates we issue. Nobody else, unless the law requires it.
Cookies
This website doesn’t use advertising or tracking cookies. Payfast’s payment page uses its own cookies to keep your payment secure.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted, by emailing luc@feetofhope.co.za. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator.
